I had a bit of trouble falling asleep last night; just thinking about writing a blog gives me a headache. How do all those writers do it? I'm starting to understand why little Cui Yongyuan couldn't sleep well back then. It seems the reason I stopped a few years ago after writing just a few posts was also that I couldn't sleep well whenever I thought about writing.

What I fear most about blogging is reading the comments and messages; I never know whether I should reply. Not replying seems a bit impolite, but I don't have time to reply to all of them, so it looks like I'll just have to be impolite. Anyway, I'm not exactly a well-read, well-mannered person to begin with. Whatever the case, let me apologize here in advance to friends who have left or will leave messages, and thank you for understanding.

If blogging is so much trouble, why write at all? Because a few years later it's fun to see what you wrote before, and in the process of writing I sort out my thoughts more carefully. Sometimes I understand things more deeply, sometimes I realize something new, and very often I also discover many of my shortcomings and mistakes. At the same time it may help some readers realize something. One more thing: many, many years from now, maybe my children will get to know their dad through this.

Enough rambling; I'm getting ready to start writing. I'll try to write once a week on average.
