This happened yesterday in the city where we live. When the plane took off, maybe because the fog was too thick, it accidentally hit a power tower.

The whole city of Palo Alto (the so-called birthplace and center of Silicon Valley) lost power for an entire day; even the traffic lights went out.

What's interesting is that, although with no traffic lights every car had to stop at every intersection, it didn't feel chaotic at all. The people in the long, long, long lines of cars didn't seem impatient; I drove for nearly an hour and didn't hear a single horn, and didn't see a single police officer.

Heh, it suddenly reminded me of Guangzhou Avenue back in the day. Just thinking of being stuck at an intersection where nobody could move puts me in a bad mood.
