About my blog
> By Duan Yongping · his NetEase blog (nteswjq.blog.163.com, now closed; read from web archives) · 2010-03-27 · [Original link](http://nteswjq.blog.163.com/blog/static/1269981201022733821187/) ([archived](https://web.archive.org/web/20100405105522/http://nteswjq.blog.163.com:80/blog/static/1269981201022733821187/))
This blog is a platform for me to chat about investing with value investors, or long-term value investors, who know me a bit.
I first opened this blog to see what NetEase's blog was like.
I've started coming here often now because friends I chat with regularly say some of my views help them, and chatting with them often helps me a lot too. One day it suddenly occurred to me that this blog could serve as a chat platform where I can chat at any time with friends I know and don't know, and I hope it helps everyone (including me).
I won't post long treatises here, because I can't write them, or rather I simply don't know how. Blog friends who want to read that kind of thing can look among NetEase's famous blogs (and of course famous blogs on other sites); there's a lot worth reading.
Here I can only chat about some of my understanding and experience over the years; call it the part of the elephant that this blind man has touched. All roads lead to Rome; I can only talk about the one I'm walking, which doesn't mean other roads don't exist or aren't good.
I type very slowly; I still type with one finger (I never learned touch typing), and I'm not good at pinyin either. Fortunately Sohu's input method helps me a lot (and I really wasn't paid for this ad). Please forgive me for writing slowly.
The format here will be mainly questions and answers. When blog friends have a question, I hope they'll first look at the earlier discussion; maybe much of it has already been covered.
I don't guarantee I'll answer every question, especially ones already explained fairly clearly earlier.
I don't shy away from any question you ask, but I'm not an expert on every question; I just have some first-hand experience of investing or running companies.
I'm not willing to give views on any short-term trend, because I really can't.
I can't comment on individual A-share stocks either.
I'll talk about some investments I've made in the past, and what my thinking and understanding were at the time; for me it's also a kind of reflection and summing-up.
I may occasionally mention some cases from my past business, but only ones where the circumstances have changed and that have lessons to offer.
I may also mention things I'm investing in now or have already invested in, and I'd be glad to have people challenge them; it's also a way for me to think. Please be sure not to treat these as recommendations.
I don't want to get too much into things beyond investing; a bit sad, but please understand.
I reserve the right to delete all ads and comments I don't accept; I hope you understand.
I, I, I, my, I, for so long; it seems very self-centered. Can't be helped: on "my" blog I can only set my rules. I hope nobody brings a loudspeaker to my blog to disturb everyone again.
