Did anyone here go to the Alibaba shareholder meeting? Is there a full record of the Q&A? I searched online and only seem to find parts.
I just want to verify a few things a friend told me: 1. Did Wei Zhe say that within 10 years Alibaba.com alone would become a company with a market value of 100 billion US dollars (excluding the Alibaba Group's other businesses)? 2. Did Jack Ma leave midway because of something urgent?
I've already received lots of information from friends and blog friends, and now it's basically clear. Thank you all. I find this is actually a good way to understand a company.
1. I can now understand why Wei Zhe talked about 100 billion. If he hadn't said 10 years, I think it actually wouldn't be much of a problem; otherwise it might lead to lawsuits in future. I hope that in future they can treat "Wall Street" with a more normal mind; otherwise the pressure of "Wall Street" may lead them to make mistakes. I believe they'll get used to it quickly. On this point I strongly support Jack Ma's "shareholders third" saying, but this time I still felt they had shareholders on their minds after all, especially since they even mentioned Soros, which was a bit odd.
2. While I'm at it, let me say I don't understand Jack Ma leaving midway. I really can't think what kind of urgent matter could make him leave early from this unusual shareholder meeting he'd looked forward to for so long. I hope it wasn't anything bad.
3. This shareholder meeting didn't change any of my views on the Alibaba Group or my investment views.
