Today I went to a golf buddy's service.

This buddy came from Pakistan, and he was the one who sponsored me into the club.

He was fine not long ago, then suddenly his old illness came back and he passed away. Life really is impermanent.

I hope his family can bear their grief, and I hope those of us still living will cherish what we have.

By the way, I've been to several services like this in America, and there's often laughter all around.

I remember that similar events I attended in China were usually full of wailing.

The farewell gathering in If You Are the One actually felt a bit like it is here. I don't know whether people in China actually do this now in real life.
