说说iphone(4)和ipad(2)

On the iPhone (4) and the iPad (2)

I'm not a so-called "Apple fan." Someone my age, and as rational as I am, is unlikely to be a fan of any person or thing; I'm not even a fan of Buffett.

In fact I always used to dislike Apple a bit, since I'd used PCs and Nokia for so many years, but the arrival of the iPhone and the iPad really changed my view of Apple completely.

As an ordinary person, I'm not able to talk about these products technically, so I'll just talk about what I use the iPhone and iPad for.

1. First, the iPhone and iPad are both very easy to pick up.

Back when I used Motorola, how annoyed I was; the user interface was so damn hard to use. Later, using Nokia smartphones, I got that old Moto feeling again.

By my own personal standard, Android's interface is still far behind the iPhone's (maybe ours will change that a bit when it comes out? Looking forward to it).

Last month I thought about buying an Android phone to try. I wandered around a store for more than half an hour while the clerk spent ten minutes or so introducing them, picking back and forth among three brands (HTC, Samsung, Moto), and in a daze I finally decided I didn't want to make trouble for myself.

The iPhone? Heh, I could use it almost the moment I had it in my hand. The clerk only told me where the power button was and what those icons were; it took about 15 seconds in all.

Being an Apple salesman really is easy; a while ago I sold an iPad 2 in an Apple Store in just a few minutes myself.

2. What do I use the iPhone for? I've actually downloaded fewer apps on my iPhone than most people, since I don't spend much time playing with it.

Phone, texting, email, the web, world clock, weather, pictures, GPS (maps), notes, YouTube, camera, voice recorder, video recording, dictionary, photo albums, library, iPod, FaceTime (video calls), movies, TV, stock quotes and trading, newspapers, compass, calendar (notes), games, and so on and so on. Something I don't pay much attention to but use especially often is the flashlight.

These functions may be only a drop in the ocean of what the iPhone can do.

What I really want to say isn't how many functions the iPhone has; the most important thing is that all these functions are very easy to pick up.

Learn it once and you've got it; you can figure it out without a teacher!

3. The iPad 2

Many people say the iPad is really just a big iPhone.

Before using the iPad I agreed, but after using it for a while I feel this "big" really makes a lot of sense.

Now I basically don't use my laptop much anymore; when I travel, bringing the iPad is definitely enough, while the iPhone still feels a bit small sometimes.

For me, the most powerful thing about the iPad 2 is its strong networking: it gets online very fast, without the hassle of booting up a laptop. It's a real pleasure to use, and light to carry.

Another especially powerful feature is pictures, including looking at pictures online. My iPad 2 holds about 10,000 photos recording many moments of our life; looking at them when I have nothing to do really makes me feel life is beautiful. How much should a thing like that be worth?

FaceTime (video) is also a very good feature. When you have Wi-Fi it's so convenient, easier than making a phone call.

I bought my mom an iPad 2 too, and soon someone will be able to take it back to her. Our photos are loaded on it as well. Video calls will be very easy from now on (I'd thought of using video on a computer before, but it was really a bit of a hassle), and the old lady can flip through the photos when she has nothing to do. It's really great.

I won't go into the rest; you can experience it yourselves when you get the chance.

All in all, if it's not too big a financial burden, the iPhone and the iPad 2 are absolutely products worth owning; life really does become different because of them.
