At 50 it's time for a colonoscopy

Recently I saw news reports in China mentioning people with colon cancer or stomach cancer, so here's a reminder for everyone.

In America, as soon as people pass 50, doctors recommend a colonoscopy to prevent colon cancer. Asians born and raised in Asia (China, Korea, Japan and other countries that like pickled foods) had best also have a gastroscopy, to prevent stomach cancer.

I've had both myself. Amitabha, nothing wrong. From now on I'll have them again every 3 to 5 years, and I aim to have them a few dozen more times.

In America both colonoscopy and gastroscopy are painless; when I had mine I just slept through it, and it was done within 10 to 20 minutes.

The doctor said having them in China and Hong Kong is somewhat painful.

I suggest that those who are afraid of pain and can afford it come to America to have them; whatever you do, don't skip them for fear of pain.

Munger has said that if he knew where he was going to die he'd never go there, but a hospital is a place you sometimes have to go; people only hope to walk in on their own feet and walk out on their own feet.
