Writing your own eulogy is a very good idea. It lets you look at the present from the future and decide what you'll do from now on, or what kind of person you want to be, or what kind of life you want to live. A group of friends and I did exactly this last year: each of us assumed our life would end on our 80th birthday and then wrote a eulogy. It's actually very hard to write; think about it and it's very meaningful.
